bio
Eddie Sherman grew up in New Jersey, where basketball became a central part of his life from an early age. He played varsity basketball at Manasquan High School, competed in AAU, and continued his playing career at the collegiate level before transitioning into coaching. Eddie has coached middle school boys’ teams in New Jersey and 5th and 6th grade teams in Virginia.
Beyond basketball, Eddie has dedicated much of his career to serving and supporting his community. Following Hurricane Katrina, he founded a nonprofit organization focused on rebuilding homes for affected families in Mississippi, where he also organized youth basketball camps and 3-on-3 tournaments. After moving to Madison, he worked with Operation Fresh Start, mentoring at-risk youth ages 16–24 and helping them develop valuable construction skills. He currently serves as Operations Manager at the Henry Vilas Zoo, a role he has held for the past six years, while continuing to share his passion for basketball by coaching his sons’ teams in local leagues.
Eddie is passionate about using basketball to build confidence, develop life skills, and make a positive impact on young athletes both on and off the court.
