Coach O’Brien serves as the head coach for the Wisconsin Academy 14U National girls team. Basketball has been a central part of his life for as long as he can remember, helping him build lifelong friendships while teaching the value of hard work, goal setting, and dedication.
Coach O’Brien has been coaching with Wisconsin Academy for the past four years and has enjoyed every step of the journey. He values the camaraderie that forms when players from different communities come together as one team, supporting each other while building lasting friendships. His teams have found success on the court, winning multiple tournaments, while also using challenging moments and game film as opportunities to learn, grow, and prepare for future competition.
Outside of basketball, Coach O’Brien enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors with family and friends—boating in the summer, hiking in the fall, skiing in the winter, and watching March Madness in the spring. He lives in Verona, Wisconsin with his family and their two dogs—one that behaves perfectly and another that’s still a work in progress.
