Coach Chwala, better known as “Boomer,” brings a strong background as both a player and coach to the Wisconsin Academy program.
Boomer was a varsity player at Lake Mills High School before continuing his playing career at Northland College. After his playing career, he turned his focus toward coaching, beginning as a JV coach at Fort Atkinson.
Since then, Boomer has coached at a variety of levels, including a season coaching JV girls basketball at Sun Prairie East. He moved into the varsity boys ranks, serving as the Varsity Boys Head Coach at Waterloo last season. He is now the Varsity Boys Head Coach at Waupun, where he looks forward to building a long-term program and continuing to develop players. Additionally, he brings a plethora of AAU coaching experience to the program.
Boomer brings a passion for the game, a commitment to player development, and a wealth of experience from his time on both sides of the sideline. He enjoys helping players grow both on and off the court and is excited to continue giving back to the game through coaching.
